In this the first of my Paris Fashion Week reviews (you know the ones that read slightly like an over excited sixth former's daubings?) the spotlight is on Balmain. The fashion powerhouse whose RTW shows have such a level of craftmanship that you'd be forgiven for thinking they were Haute Couture.

This collection was no different from previous collections in that the silhouettes were razor sharp and lean and each look was perfectly executed. 

I particularly liked the subtle nod to 80s power suits.
