UV lamp- £30
Base/Top coat- £30
Polishes (each)- £10
Solar oil- £10
Really, all you need is the UV lamp and the base and top coats as apparently you can use normal polish (I just found this out but haven't tried it yet, I'll let you know).
Instructions
1/ Clean nails completely with acetone to get rid of any traces of oil and paint a think base coat on each nail. Cure for 2 mins per hand.
2/ Paint a thin coat of colour on each nail. Cure for 2 mins per hand.
3/ Paint another thin coat of colour on each nail. Cure for 2 mins per hand.
4/ Paint a thin coat of Top coat on each nail. Cure for 2 mins per hand.
5/ The nail will be tacky, buff using solar oil and a cotton wool pad until smooth and dry (10secs per nail)
You will now have lovely glossy nails for up to 2 weeks!
To remove use normal acetone and wraps (£4 for 100)
I always use Shellac before holidays and festivals as I hate chipping! I charge my friends to do their nails (very cheaply of course) so after a month or so, I'd made my money back.
Will anyone else be getting their own Shellac kit?

great tutorial. thanks
really tempted to get all this stuff now and do all my friends nails for their holidays! x
this is a great tutorial and the price works out soo much cheaper than getting it done professionally!
pity i change my nails about 3 times a week or i'd consider it!

It works out quite cheap for everyone!
Lol! You can do nail art with it but obvs lasts a while!! Ha ha. Xx
My only concern is putting UV light directly onto my hands. I don't dare sunbathe let alone blast a UV lamp onto my face so I'm not convinced it would be safe for my hands...
Love this! Deffo great to have this in mind, I've been wanting to try shellac for a while. Think I'll go to the salon first and see what they are like and then see.
I like this but I change my nails colour like every two days,so it isn't for me at all xD
Nice nails, cute blog
