The room was a kind of brown colour to start out so I quickly got myself a massive tub of white paint and got to work, it took about a day and then I touched up on the second day.
I would definitely recommend painting your room white as it's a cheap and effective way to freshen a room, and if you're like me and all your shiz is multi-coloured, it's the perfect background.
I got the pink and green throw cushions from the 99p shop along with some scented candles to get rid of the paint smell.
The wall hanging is from my first trip to Istanbul and was a only few quid but it's so pretty.
I always cut out pages from magazines that I like (mostly LOVE it would seem) and keep them in a folder. Pretty handy as I had plenty of stuff to put on my wall. I arranged the cuttings in a kind of collage above my desk.
The fairy lights are old Christmas tree lights... I'm a bit fairy light mad. It's like Blackpool illuminations in here now.
Anyway, I just wanted to show you how easy it is to make a place home. The biggest expenditure was the paint (£17.99) the rest of the stuff like hooks, nails, storage boxes, candles etc, I got from 99p shops.
Let me know what you think... I'm off to have a cuppa, I think I deserve it.
MORE PHOTOS AFTER THE BREAK.....
