Formspring Question: What's your 'everyday' makeup look?

I've been meaning to answer this formspring question for a while as I've had quite a few readers ask me about my makeup, and some specifically ask me about makeup for mixed race/Asian skin (I'm not actually Asian, but I like to pretend I am!!)

So anyhoo, here is an 'everyday' face for me, I'm definately not a 'natural look' girl, as I don't like to scare people with my bare face!

SKIN: I started to suffer with adult acne last year and my skin was horrendous, it really knocked my confidence, but I'm now on antibiotics, which have helped so much. It's great as I don't like to wear too much foundation. I use Illamasqua Skin Base in 14 (available HERE), literally just a tiny bit to even out my skintone.

I then use Stila Shimmer powder (buy HERE) to highlight under my brows and along the bridge of my nose.

I use MAC Powder Blush in Peaches, I'd highly recommend this for darker skin as it doesn't have any cold pink tones in it, it's a true Peach.

BROWS: If I could only do one bit of makeup it would be my brows as they are crap when they're not defined (read drawn on!) I've tried all sorts of high tech kits and powders and gels, but the best thing I've ever used and I keep going back to is Rimmel Brow Pencil in Dark Brown. It's, like, £3.99, great colour and easy to use. On a hot day I seal with Illamasqua Sealing Gel (get it HERE) and my brows are THERE TO STAY!

EYES:  I always use Browns/Pinks/Mauves on my eyes as I think they suit my colouring best. I'm obsessed with MAC Eyeshadow in Expensive pink which is like a shimmery coral colour, great for daytime.

I line my eyes with Bobbi Brown Gel Liner in Black and use YSL Shocking Mascara. My little trick is to cut off a tiny bit of a strip of false eyelashes (I use Primark ones now, £1) and stick those at the outer corners of my eyes. It's super quick and easy and opens my eyes up a treat.

LIPS: I just brush over my MAC Peaches Blusher and use Burt's Bees Lip balm. I like a natural lip during the day as I find lipstick high maintenance. I do love a statement lip though and I'm trying to get a bit braver and wear lippie more often.
